Titus-Shanghai participated at the first Euro Rotax Mini Final held in Bruck near Vienna. The weather conditions during the event were perfect, dry and hot, during all days. There were about 100 drivers from over 25 nations and which participated in the Rotax Micro and Mini series.
Practice started Tuesday and Titus developed his driving skills in all training sessions. Already within the official training sessions, on Friday, it showed that Titus was not only very fast but also had enough reserve to overtake. It was the first time that we worked with our own GPS data analysis and Titus adapted well to this tool.
In the qualifying session Titus ended on the eight position, out of 42 drivers, and during the following three heats he found himself on fourth, fifth and sixth position. In the prefinal he was second and was disqualified thereafter. Titus’ engine airbox rubber inserts were marked “made in Italy” instead of “made in Austria”.
Nevertheless Titus proved his very good performance. He started from last position in the final and reached eight position at the end. Titus overtook in every turn and his top speed and track time was equal to that of the race winner. For sure he is one of the lucky winners during this Eurofinal.
Congratulations to Titus and many thanks goes to Dennis Woik, his mechanics, who did a great job with lots of up and downs.
